   Their highly accurate and automated payout trigger replaces field appraisers and enables insurers to assess damage to crops, homes, and other assets. The system can also serve as a backup to rainfall-based index insurance.

   Our watershed-wide analytics and flood maps are updated with a click of a button. They enable authorities 聽to keep people and assets out of flood prone areas, design dykes and dams, identify wetlands, and more.

3. Crisis Managers
   Near real-time flood monitoring system pinpoints people affected during a crisis and delivering the disaster relief needed. Managers can quickly share damage reports with everyone from international agencies to first responders.

Bessie Schwarz is the CEO and Co-founder of Cloud to Street, which leverages the satellite revolution to fill critical gaps in disaster decision-making in the developing world. Cloud to Street鈥檚 remote sensing platform monitors floods around the world and dynamically maps local flood vulnerability for virtually every pixel on earth. Bessie also serves as the senior advisor for strategy and impact at the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication (YPCCC), a social psychology center for climate change. She started the partnership and impact advisory practice at the program in 2015. Bessie is a community organizer by training and at heart. She has worked with communities vulnerable to climate change across the US and lead national campaigns on climate and energy policy. She has a Masters of Science from Yale University and a BA in Philosophy from Carleton College, and is an Echoing Green Fellow.
